Description: This is a vintage Dufex 3-D foil print of "The Virgin of the Rose" by Raphael. 6 3/8" x 8 1/4". F.J. Warren Ltd. Hitchin Herts. Printed in England. Mint condition. Never framed - stored in a folder to maintain its condition. Dufex printing was a process developed by F.J. Warren in the early 20th century. It involves printing images onto aluminum foil-lined paper or cardboard using UV formulated transparent ink, which allows the reflective shine to be retained. Engraving techniques are then used to add a range of light reflective textures to the foil. This will be shipped in an envelope between cardboard stiffeners.
