Description: Charles and Ray Eames developed this tandem shell seating for Herman Miller in 1963 as a comfortable solution for heavily trafficked spaces. A row of three fabric-upholstered fiberglass-reinforced armchairs, attach to cast aluminium spiders that are mounted on a steel T-beam. Once seen in airports and other public venues, the seating is perfect for a lounge or modern rec room. Provenance: A gift from Architect, Phillip Johnson to his celebrity dentist brother-in-law, Scott Severins. Fabric is in need of restoration or replacement. Framework and Fiberglass shells are in good, solid condition. Available for pick-up in East Hampton, New York.
