This is this year's major purchase by the Smith College Museum of Art. It was painted in Berlin in 1909, four years after Kirchner, with Heckel and Schmidt-Rottluff, formed "Die Brücke" in Dresden in 1905. Other museum acquisitions are reported on page 30.
