Description: Vintage A.M.C. & B.W. N.A. Golden Tie Clip - Retro Amalgamated Butcher Bar Chain. My great uncle, Earl W Jimerson started out in East St Louis, Illinois in the early 1900s, organizing packing houses in the National Stockyards in Southern Illinois. He became a leader of Local 534 of the Meat Cutters and Grocery Clerks, and then was elected in 1920s to second Vice President of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workmen of North America International Union. He ultimately became President of the Union in 1942 Chicago until his death in 1957. This was his tie chain. Measures 2 3/8 inches wide at the bar, emblem hangs 3 1/4 inches from top of exposed bar.
