Description: Click here to see all Stamp Sets I now have listed! This USPS Mint Stamp Sheet honors the centennial of newspaper comic strips. Restricted to strips created before 1950, the series featured drawings of comic-strip characters with their logos. The stamps were arranged in five tiers with four stamps to a tier. The Comic Strip Classics sheet was the third issue in the Classic Collection Series. There was push to create a stamp to honor American comics as early as the 1960’s, but didn’t get real consideration until 1993. With the 100th anniversary of "The Yellow Kid." If you know anyone into comic books, this set would surely be a great gift framed!!! Please note I have a number of these sheets so the block position will vary (obviously I liked comic books!). Most people don't even know what a "block" position is..... so here it is... when these were made they were made on a huge sheet with 6 blocks. You can tell the block position by looking at the square position on the left. Avid collectors like to get all 6 block positions... but to the person that just wants a sheet to put in a frame and hang on the wall, the block number doesn't matter! If you need a particular block, please inquire before you purchase so I can ensure I have it.
