Description: Here we have beautiful original Mary maxim Canadian hand knit cowichan style cardigan.These were sold as a knitting pattern in the 1950s & 60s for the buyer to knit themselves, often supplying the wool & zip etc as an optional extra. They were very popular even amongst the Hollywood A-list celebs of the day, they were made to emulate the native Canadian knits made by the coastal Salish cowichan people of Vancouver island famous for their graphic knits. this is in superb condition, has a 1950s crown “Clark coats” brass zip No Label size: (please see below measurements for accurate modern day sizing & View the size chart images to assist you) Our size: This would best fit up to a size 46” chest medium according to our attached sizing charts However please check your measurements (in inches) against the ones provided below: Chest (flat lay armpit to armpit): 25.5” Arm length from pit to cuff: 21" Length from back collar to hem: 30" PLEASE NOTE: the measurements listed may differ due to styles and fabrics.
