Description: Vintage 1950 Era Kenmore Console Sewing Machine Mahogany 3 Drawer Desk Loaded with Extras. My Mom owned this machine since the early 1950's and she always took very good care of it. I did some research and found this was made for Sears & Roebuck by The White Sewing Machine Company. It is called a Kenmore electric rotary sewing machine. The 3 drawers are loaded with vintage accessories including much spools of thread, attachments, needles and more. This is a local pickup item only, we are located just south of Boston MA. In 1933-1958, White Sewing Machine Company had a deal with Sears to produce their Kenmores.The White Sewing Machine Company was a sewing machine company founded in 1858 in Templeton, Massachusetts, by Thomas H. White and based in Cleveland, Ohio, since 1866.Founded as the White Manufacturing Company it took the White Sewing Machine Company name when it was incorporated in 1876. White Sewing Machines won numerous awards at international expositions, including the 1889 Universelle Exposition in Paris. White began supplying sewing machines to Sears Roebuck and Co in the 1920s. By the 1930s, all Sears sewing machines were Whites rebadged as Kenmore, Franklin, Minnesota, and other house brands. A White Rotary Electric Series 77 machine was placed in the Crypt of Civilization.
