Description: This cute little set of salt and pepper shakers would be so cute for Christmas! They have bright red plastic caps, and the set dates to the 1940's. The salt and pepper shakers are made from pressed glass, made to resemble cut glass. The glass is slightly cloudy, from having been left with salt stored inside (none there now). The metal is slightly oxidized, again probably from salt. The metal is not aluminum - probably tin or a metal with a tin component, as a magnet sticks to it. The little set is small, just 2" tall, and 3/4" across. It was originally a travel set, or a picnic set. I have seen this set advertised as having bakelite tops, but I don't believe it is. They are a lovely Art Deco shape, but I believe the caps to be plastic.
