Pages have some foxing to the margins of the front end pages but most of text is clean. Contains many illustrations and fold out maps. All maps are present and in good condition with minor flaws such as microbreaks in the folds. No large tears or missing pieces. Find volume two and you have a remarkable first edition set of this classic account of the H. M. S. Challenger and its voyages in the Atlantic during 1873 and 1876.
