Description: This vintage telephone operators headset came from my friend who worked for the GTE phone company for many years. She has an extensive phone collection and is selling off for duplicate pieces. This headset comes to you in a Audiosears Graybar electric company box. I do not find those markings on the headset, what are you find on the headset is Brooke Tel 52. The headset has the earpiece and the microphone to talk into. These pieces are in very good condition and rotate and swing so the operator could move them to her comfort. The cords that attach to the pieces are all wrapped in fabric, the connectors to the clips that would go to the telegraph system are all in the original shrink wire connections. Free of frayed, exposed wires, or damage wires of any kind. I have no ability to test this, so I’m selling it as a display piece. I am not sure what would have gone on the offside headset band, there is a holder or is it something they have attached… I have no idea what that may have been. The headset can be somewhat lengthen or shorten for the length of your face. So the length of this piece can extend all the way from 13 inches from the top of the head to the bottom of the microphone shortest being 11 and 1/2 inches from the top of the head to the microphone.
