Up for bid is this splendid Vista Alegre porcelain shell-shaped dish in the delightful (and scarce) Samatra pattern, styled by Mottahedeh for the HISTORIC CHARLESTON COLLECTION. Detailed Chinese-export artistry comes to life in this charming, graceful design. This gleaming shell dish measuring 7 w x 8 h is rather difficult to find. Dish has been stored and not used but does show some small discoloration on the lip of the bottom where it sat on a shelf - otherwise no obvious mars or chips. I know Ashley and Samatra are almost identical, and I am pretty sure this is Samatra, but if you have a clarifying question to confirm, please do ask!
