Description: Heave Duty 12 inch HOFFRITZ TAILOR'S SCISSORS Made in FranceThese shears are from an estate of a dear friend who entrusted me with some very high quality possessions of hers. I have not been able to establish a date when they were made. From what I've found on the Internet, Hoffritz had a store in NYCity; she lived there and probably bought them at the store. Hoffritz does not seem to have an active web page at this point and when trying to contact them, I was constantly referred to Amazon where Hoffritz is sold at a lower end price range. I never did find out when Hoffritz was manufactured in France. So I then found a French company, Bohin, who manufactures tailor's scissors to ask if they had any information on Hoffritz being made in France; after sharing photos of these scissors, Helene referred me to NOGENT SCISSORS SPECIALIST IN FRANCE. https://ciseaux-de-nogent.com/ciseaux-lingeres-nogent-hb-520/107-ciseaux-tailleur-paris-coude-28-cm-nogent-hb-520.html Note that the Nogent scissors sell for 279 Euros, or $300 U.S. The Tailor's scissors pictured and described on that web page are very similar to the scissors pictured in this listing. I believe these Hoffritz scissors are a vintage model of very high end shears no longer made in France. I welcome any comments or clarification that I can add to this listing. Thank you. CONDITION: The scissors weigh a hefty 1.3 lbs. They fit the hand very comfortably. They appear to be in excellent condition with minor signs of previous use. They cut clean and easily. I'm liquidating excess crafting supplies, antiques, collectibles, glass & dinnerware in an effort to downsize. I do not want returns and these scissors are offered "AS IS".
