Description: 'JOIN THE NAVY AND SEE THE WORLD'. For Your Consideration: Vintage WWII US Navy Peacoat, Wool Dress Uniform, Working Uniform, w/ Seabag. This OUTSTANDING Collection of United States Naval History is a Testament to the Fortitude and Will of the Greatest Generation. It is apparent the Uniform (and ALL pieces incorporated) were meticulously cared for over the decades. The name of Seaman G. A. Moyer is stitched, written, and stamped on each of the pieces in this collection. Forlornly, and subsequent to extensive research, we were unable to unearth any further information on this Hero. The pieces in the collection include: *Peacoat: Size 36; 31" long; underarm to underarm 20"; sleeve 25" (ALL original buttons; two are unattached but are included with the coat). Additionally, the Peacoat does NOT have the Throat Latch, BUT it DOES have Corduroy Lined Pockets *Wool (Melton) Shirt (Dress Blue Jumper): All original buttons; tag under the Tar Flap reads NAVAL CLOTHING FACTORY. Name: MOYER G.A. RATE: CO32; shoulder seam to bottom 24"; under arm to under arm 19"; side seam to side seam 19.5"; sleeve length 26"; three 'Hashmarks' on the cuff of each sleeve; decorative Two Stars underside of the Tar Flap *Pants (Crackerjacks): size 30"; of the Thirteen Buttons (representing the Original 13 Colonies) Two are NOT Original; inseam 31" *Working Uniform: FIRST SHIRT: Three stripes on Cuff of the Sleeves; shows wear at bottom of the 'V' (chest); some staining; Moyer written on bottom-inside of shirt. PANTS: Top two buttons are missing and bottom button as well; hole(s) in pocket(s); blue/green paint and other stains; Moyer written inside waistband (back). NOTE: The US Navy used multiple camouflage schemes during WWII (many of which incorporated green colors like 'Haze Green', Ocean Green', and 'Navy Green' to blend with the sea and sky depending on the lighting conditions. One may imagine Seaman Moyer meticulously painting a camouflage pattern on his vessel. Seabag: Opening around the top is frayed (draw string 'pocket'); Moyer G. A. stamped; some staining. Undoubtedly, this Naval Uniform Collection shall make the QUINTESSENTIAL ADDITION to your uniform or World War II Collection.
