Description: Unknown Tile Maker Hull Pottery??? circa 1920's Vintage grill or vent tile has glossy medium blue glaze on the surface with mottled glazing interior. Originally made for a practical purpose, mainly to accommodate heat exchange. They were used in fireplaces and other architectural installations. Some were used to artfully mask floor drains. Today, these are collectible treasures. This tile measures 4" x 4" x 3/4" thick. Very good condition, never used. Last photo shows this design in a page from an old Hull catalog.
