A huipil remains as the most common traditional garment worn by indigenous women from central Mexico into Central America. These blouses are handmade, one of a kind, each usually taking at least one month to complete. This textile art form has been passed down from generation to generation in Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, Mexico and dates back to pre-Colonial times. This style of clothing was made popular by the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and is currently very boho chic.
