Vintage USAF 11th Aeromedical Airlift Sqdn Patches C-9 Nightingale Scott AFB, IL

Description: Three vintage USAF 13th Airlift Squadron patches including a “regular” full-color patch, a full-color patch with a hook and loop closure back, and a subdued patch with a hook and loop closure back. Patches measure approximately 3 1/2” x 3 3/4”. The 11th Aeromedical Transport Squadron, Light (1956-1964) and the 11th Aeromedical Transport Squadron (1964-1966) were the predecessors of the 11th Aeromedical Airlift Squadron, which was active from 1966-1993. In 1993, the unit was redesignated the 11th Airlift Squadron. The squadron was inactivated in 2003. The 11th Aeromedical Airlift Squadron primarily flew the C-9 Nightingale (military aeromedical airlift version of the McDonnell Douglas DC-9) and was based at Scott AFB, IL. Patches may be from the late 1980s-early 1990s. Patches are from the estate of a retired USAF colonel and command pilot. The patches appear to be in excellent used condition with signs of wear and age, such as some minor fraying of threads, loose threads, and a spot or small area of white thread on the subdued patch (please see photos).
