Description: This vintage ironstone oval shaped Turkey platter is a transfer ware design of black on white base with gloss finish. The center presents a beautiful strutting Tom turkey in a field, fanning his yellow feathers with a pink to red breast and gullet. He is surrounded by stockade fencing and trees. The oval edges are decorated with fruits and vegetables colored in red, green and yellow shades alternating with grape bunches and leaves. The outer rim has a scrolling design of reversing C shapes with a bold black edge along a scalloped rim. The reverse is marked: Hand decorated Underglaze Ironstone with the NSP manufacturers triangle. It is previously owned in fair to good condition with mild crazing most noted on reverse. There are several manufacturers flaws in the glaze presented as raised or pin head size pits. It measures 18.5” x 14.25”. Ships USPS with careful packing. Seller code H41.
