Description: Vintage 1970's TONKA Jeep, Purple Body/White Interior; Fat Tires, Pressed Steel. Measures 6"L x 4"W x 3.25"H with windshield bar up, and weighs 9.5 oz. Shown with a 12 oz soda can for relative size. Despite its soiled interior, this is a striking toy, and likely one of the first purple Tonkas to be produced. It has the simple styling so familiar with Tonka Jeeps. The body paint is probably its best feature. Only a few spots of missing paint and minimal soiling on its exterior. The original flower hood decal is gone. The white Tonka decals remain, though they show wear and are lifting along the bottom edge. The headlights are intact if not a bit discolored. It was meant to be a groovy dune-mobile, so it has fat tires. Speaking of which, the tires show wear and the once-white wheels now look tan from discoloration (see last picture as an example). SEE ALL PHOTOS. This is another classic from my dad's vast collection of used toys. I am a hobby seller, not a dealer.
