Description: Offering for your consideration is this Vintage Box of 3 Ladies Swiss Hand Loom Embroidered Linen Handkerchiefs (Hankies). Without removing them from the box, each hankey appears to be approximately 10" square including the lace edges. The 3 are mounted to a blue piece of paper held in place with straight pins and finished off with a small pink bow. The handkerchief in the back of the display is adorned with lace edging and no embroidery while the remaining two have embroidered flowers on one lacey corner only. There is some age spot discoloration on the items, but they are a wonderful keepsake of 70 plus years gone by. The original purchase tag remains on the back of the original box indicates they were purchased from McLellan's at a price of 59 cents. McLellan's was a chain of five and dime stores located throughout the Southern United States between 1917-1958. *Please note that my items are VINTAGE and most have age related wear. I am not an expert, only an admirer of the items that I remember from earlier times....Each item that I sell is at least 20 years old and some are 70+, which means me or someone at one point owned and loved it--so when you are bidding please remember it is NOT NEW.
