Description: Group of 21 copies of The Stars and Stripes newspaper printed in Paris during 1945. In addition to chronicling many significant events of the later part of the war from all fronts, Stars and Stripes offers a fascinating window into American culture and the social norms of the time. My father was stationed in France during WWII and brought them home among his other mementos. He kept the newspapers stored flat in his footlocker. All are complete and in very good condition, with the exception of one that has a stain (visible in the photo) and another that has some small writing in the top margin.
