These were made to be issued to military personnel, should they be captured, to act as a tool for navigating. They were magnetised and when held over over or in water, the arrows would always point North. These 6 Brands are, Fleet, Cheerio, All British, Double Six, Kleen and Paragon Being a serious collector, particularly of British examples I have come across a couple of companies (larger ones of their time) who were commissioned to produce these alongside their standard issue.
