PFC’s expansion during the 90’s was the result of opening new branches in Chicago, Denver and Cleveland and again in 2000 when we opened a large distribution center in New Jersey. From our modest beginning in 4000 square feet in downtown Los Angeles, PFC now operates 17 distribution centers throughout the United States and Canada. Throughout the years PFC has grown on our reputation of providing First Class Service.Many of the relationships with our current distributor base were the result of a face-to-face meeting and a handshake. We believe that people buy from people they like! Over the years PFC has been committed to building lasting relationships with our customers and treating employees as family. This core operating principle has contributed to our success in the past and will continue to do so in the future. Founded in 1966 by Bud Porteous, in downtown Los Angeles, PFC has grown into the largest privately held Importer / Master Distributor of fasteners in the United States. Originally PFC imported product from Japan and bought “fill in orders” from Domestic Manufacturers, packaging the product into Red Boxes and selling primarily to the Wholesale Hardware Industry west of the Mississippi. In those early days, PFC was able to compete with the industry giants because of the service we provided. It was common for PFC to fill orders 98% complete within two days when the rest of the industry could take a week or longer. We opened our second branch in San Francisco in 1968 followed by Portland and Salt Lake City in 1974 and Seattle in 1975. PFC was acquired by Brighton-Best International in 2013.
