Description: This listing is for a vintage sculpture of the Child Jesus of Prague, Santo Nino in all original as found condition, complete with original garments and hair. The hands and feet appear to be made of composite, with the head being made of celluloid, which is normal for the period it was made. A very unusual Nino made in the 1930's or 40's, and one very hard item to find in all original condition. This skillfully crafted statue shows the Lord with a serene, happy face and beautiful, inset glass eyes, adorned with lashes. A cloth bag is draped over His left arm and He holds the orb in His hand. In His right hand He holds a staff. His vestment is both ornate and elaborate with gold threading and embroidery. His head features a hat and original copper crown. His long wavy hair is made of wool. He is wearing primitive copper boots. He stands on a stacked wooden base. Though quite old, He is gently used, with no discernible damage. The crown may need adjusting and there is collected dust and stray threads. He would most certainly benefit from a good cleaning. He measures about 20” high and weighs about 1.7 kilograms.
