Vintage Saga Constellation Star Finder Barritt Serviss Repro Celestial Map

Description: Star And Planet Finder Saga Industries Heavens Without Telescope (Rotating Planetarium). This is a reproduction of an early American star finder designed by Designer Barritt & Serviss in 1906. Manufactured by Brand Saga Industries, Inc. of Connecticut. Does not have original box or instructions (although copy of instructions included as a stock photo). Has tab hook for wall hanging. The star finder is made of heavy cardboard mounted onto pressed wood. This reproduction is from the 1970's - 1980's. Dark brown on cream colored background, with red ecliptic path of the Sun. Hold it above your head, turn the dial, and find the constellations. Sun disc shows constellations, ecliptic with raised planets, Gregorian and Zodiacal calendars, date line and magnitude of stars from 1st to the 4th. Search terms: astrology, zodiac, constellations. Hallmarks: Paper label on back reads "Saga industries, inc., Box 311, Saugatuck Station, Connecticut 06880" Approximate age: 1970's Dimensions: 15" wide x 15” long x 0.5” thick. Condition: Good giftable condition. Mentionable issue: missing original box and instructions, and 2) elastic stop gone on "North" hole, so cord loose, north, not taunt as it should be in line to "Mid-Day". Board is in excellent condition, rotating as it should. No discolorations, tears, blemishes, oxidation, stains, water marks, or other visual problems. Unpacked weight: 2 lbs 4 oz.
