Description: Vintage Porcelain Borzoi Figurine Lamp *** A Beautiful Piece at a Great Price! ***This auction is for a lovely, porcelain lamp featuring two Russian Borzoi Wolfhounds. The figurine part of the lamp measures 10 1/2" long and 8 1/4" high. The back is impressed "5203 / D". The porcelain part was clearly made to be a lamp (it has a special place on the back with a hole to allow for the metal stem of the lamp to come through carrying the electrical wiring), it was not just a figurine that was made into a lamp. We have found a similar piece to this that showed a marking by Gerold Porzellain of Bavaria and we assume this lamp is the same maker. The lamp itself measures 27" high including the finial and 11 1/2" long. The metal stem of the lamp is bent and loose and some of the paint is chipping off. It needs some TLC. It works, but the plug and the wiring is old, so we would recommend rewiring it with modern upgrades. This lamp is very heavy, weighing over 8 pounds! The lamp socket has a gold sticker that reads "Paul Hanson".
