Description: Lot of 2 ,Vintage felt Theme Parks from the late 1950's from Western Massachusetts : Riverside Park, Agawam, Mass. and Mountain Park, Holyoke, Mass. Riverside park :Throughout most of the 20th century, the park was known as Riverside Park. It started out as a picnic grove called Gallops Grove in 1840, and was eventually renamed to Riverside Grove, then Riverside Park. Opening in the late 19th century, it is the oldest amusement park in the Six Flags chain, acquired by Premier Park in 1996 and rebranded Six Flags New England in 2000. Mountain Park was built in 1894 by the Holyoke Street Railway as a way to increase weekend business on the company's trolley cars. Over the next 94 years, Mountain Park provided the citizens of Holyoke and its neighbors a variety of entertainment. When the park closed in 1987, so too did a chapter in the hearts and lives of many citizens of Western Massachusetts. These 2 pennants are extremely rare and our in good condition for their age. The measurements are: Riverside Park Pennant 9" x 26" long and Mountain Park 9" x 26.75" long.All 4 straps are missing on the Riverside Park pennant.Mountain Park pennant has 1 thumb tack hole near the tip and has some slight fraying on the bottom as seen in photos.Both pennants are blue but because of the age, the front on each have faded a bit, as seen in the photos.
