Description: The jewelry box has a Sephia toned design of a young man and woman in the country side. He’s placing some flowers in her hair. A very delicate and sincere design, well balanced and perfect to adorn a jewelry box imo. The box measures 9 7/16” long by 3 3/16” high (when closed) and 5.5” wide. It measures 7 5/8” tall when fully opened. The color of the wood has a rich reddish tone and it darkens towards the corners. The bottom has a natural finish. The inside is a very bright red. Very good condition overall. The ballerina is also in very good condition save for a small bald spot on her head. There are two areas where jewelry can be placed. There is a key and the box does lock. There are 3 mirrors, no cracks but there looks to be glue residue around the perimeter. It plays the tune limelight. Condition is good. It plays and she turns as is Intended. Cosmetically it has light scuffs, scratches and some dings in the wooden lacquer box portion. Underneath as well with the 4 feet and some light scratches on the main portion. There is a light crack on the top picture portion that runs about 6.5-7” . The image is still intact and doesn’t show signs that it will split off. It’s a beautiful, working, vintage piece made by a renowned music box maker. Very unique image. Also of note, it was serviced at least once by Rita Ford inc in NYC, a famed seller of antique music boxes that held that location for 60 years.
