Description: Vintage Reed Mfg Co. Pipe Vise Pat. Aug 11, 1914 No. 71 Erie, Pa. Table Bench Vise Condition is used. Wear and tear from age, use and storage. Rust, dust, grime, grease, oil, scratches, gouges, paint splatter. Both vices turn, one better than the other. I oiled the bottom vice threads (some drip spots) and it turns nicely, the top also needs to be oiled and the whole thing needs to be lubricated and cleaned up in general for use. There is some play in the top teeth but it may just need to be tightened up. Most of the rust is on the surface, a few spots of pitting but nothing major. No original paint left to speak of. Untested with a piece of pipe in the jaws. All the parts that need to move, do. A really nice vintage heavy duty pipe vise, still working and with many years left.
