Description: Rare find and collectible from an estate in the Pennsylvania Coal Mining Northeast Region. These types of spike pullers varied in sizes from 30" to 60". This one measures out at approximately 36" ( a full yardstick) and weighs approximately 7 lbs. 11 oz. Believed to be used in the coal mining industry based on location and in some cases used on smaller rail spikes inside the deep mines rail tracks for the mine car buggies. Its smaller design made it more manageable in tighter spaces underground. Has not been wire brushed to preserve its character from a time gone by. Hard to tell if there is a specific manufacturer's mark under the rust. There is a slight bend towards the end which displays a unique four sided chiseled shape and round point. Photos will give a good visual. This vintage railroad spike puller pry bar tool claw is a must-have for any coal mining or railroad enthusiast. Made of durable iron and weighing in at just under 8 lbs. This tool is perfect for pulling spikes. The 36" length provides ample reach for any task, and its unique design makes it a valuable addition to any tool collection. Whether you're a collector or an active miner, this tool is sure to impress.
