Description: There are a lot of different names for this pattern like Fire Lily, Mariposa Lily, Mountain Lily and others. It's not an uncommon pattern but what makes this quilt top rather uncommon is the way they set the blocks and the scale of the blocks. Whoever made this was really artistic.Unsure of the date. It's difficult to date a quilt without a patterned fabric in it. 74 by 82 inches. Handsewn except for the two borders that were machine sewn. There are essentially just 16 blocks in this quilt. It's done in colors that look like a Mennonite or Amish person did it but I'm not sure if they would have used a pattern like this. It's sturdy and ready to quilt. If you wanted it larger it would be easy enough to add plain black borders. The pieced borders are on only two sides. Colors are black, salmon pink and green.
