Description: Nice large sized punched or pierced tin hanging candle lantern. This style was prominent during the colonial period in America and were used to carry candles about for lighting during excursions outside after dark. Often patterns were uniquely punched to indicate certain individuals or families moving about in the darkness. Wonderful facsimile of the originals in used but well kept condition overall. Well over a foot tall as shown. Not sure of exact age or origin as I do not see a makers mark but was apparently produced by a skilled tinsmith. Please use pics as a guide to condition. Nice example!
