What we have here is Ocean City’s bestselling reel model, a vintage Ocean City Bay City No. 112, 250-yard size, circa pre-war WWII and the 40’s, made in the U.S.A. The reel is clean, lubricated and operates smoothly. However, there is finish loss on some of the metal parts, especially the spool and rings. Also, there is a small abrasion at the upper outside of the tail plate. It features black Bakelite side plates, chrome plated brass metal parts, rugged precision-made gearing, a gear ratio of 2:1, star drag, free spool, line capacity of 250 yds. 3 strand. 27 lb. test, linen line and weighs 19.3 oz. It has a black plastic torpedo handle knob that turns freely. Aside from being a collectible, this reel can be used for fishing for a long time given proper care. Included is a copy of the front label of an original Bay City box. S&H at the 2 lb. rate.
