He climbed up the metal structures and from there began to throw metal objects at the wolf (bolts and metal dies that were at hand). They managed to hit the wolf with a metal object, which, with its tail between its legs, was forced to run away. Only after a while, making sure that the wolf was gone, and the danger had passed, Vasily was able to return to the mine. He told Brigadier G.P. Usaty about what had happened. and another local hunter. The next day, the brigadier and the hunter (in his name is the story) took their guns with them and went to look for the beast. After a few hours of searching, the animal was found at the edge of a mown wheat field, near the trees. It was far away to shoot. We decided to go around the field. To no avail. The wolf noticed them and went to the mine. Later they managed to track down the wolf's den and arrange a hunting ambush there. After a while, the wolf decided to return to the den, which was next to the metal structures of the mine lying on the ground. The hunters waited for the wolf to carefully go around its territory, sniff everything around and lie down in the den. They thought the wolf was getting ready for bed. After waiting another hour, the hunters began to go around the wolf from both sides. Approaching the wolf at a distance of about 30-40 meters, the brigadier Usatii G.P. shot him first. The wounded wolf rushed directly at the second hunter, who was not taken aback and shot at the wolf a second time. The second shot was fatal for the wolf.
