Description: Rare vintage Paul henry cottage figurine made by Ring ceramics Studio, Kilkenny, Ireland. These figurines are very sought after by collectors. This cottage was designed by famous Irish potter Peter Brennen. Brennan originally trained as a sculptor at the National College of Art in Dublin. While teaching in Kilkenny he developed an interest in pottery. He set up the Ring Ceramics Studio in Kilkenny in collaboration with Victor Waddington. He married Helena Brennan (nee Ennis) in 1965, they moved the studio to Dun Laoghaire in Dublin, from where they worked collaboratively and exhibited together. He was a founder member of the Society of Designers, the Crafts Council and the Craft Potters Society. In the 1920s and 1930s Paul Henry was Ireland's best known artist, one who had a considerable influence on the popular image of the west of Ireland. This piece is in excellent condition.
