Description: This is a very Fine Vintage Outer Space Science Fiction Planet Asteroid Oil Painting on Artist Board, depicting an extraterrestrial large gas planet, surrounded by a dense asteroid belt. This astounding painting is by astronomical artist and science writer, Michael W. Carroll. The detail in this painting is absolutely phenomenal, and this painting is worthy of being in any scientific astronomical journal in the world. The asteroids are depicted in sharp, photorealistic detail, and the planet itself is rendered in kaleidoscopic hues of green, blue and teal. The pitch blackness of outer space is visible in the four corners of this painting, and this artwork is signed and dated in the lower left corner: "M. Carroll '79." Approximately 24 1/4 x 30 1/4 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 24 x 30 inches. Good condition for decades of age and storage, with a few light scuffs to the painted surface, and mild edge wear and scuffing to the original period vintage aluminum frame (please see photos.) Acquired in the Bay Area of Northern California. If you like what you see, I encourage you to make an Offer. Please check out my other listings for more wonderful and unique artworks!
