Description: Vintage Original 1974 RAY PACKARD WATERCOLOR PAINTING Coastal Lighthouse Cliff Earlier work. Probably a West Coast landscape, since that is what he is most known for. This was purchased in the Akron, Ohio area 21.75” x 14-3/4" Ray was born in the 1970’s and graduated with his Masters degree in painting from Drake University. Ray taught art and humanities at Caney College in Kentucky and ceramics, sculpture and design in New York before coming to his beloved home and inspiration in Venice Beach, California. He was a Venice artist from 1975 to 1989. His paintings display an intimate knowledge of his selected subjects which include classic Southern California Beach scenes, people and places which capture his eye and his heart, as well as classic automobiles which capture his legacy. Ray’s paintings have been exhibited extensively throughout the country and his patrons include private and corporate collectors and galleries throughout the United States and worldwide. Ray now lives in Akron, Ohio and formerly ran the Packard Gallery in Akron. The Packard Gallery provided many new and veteran artists with exhibition space in the 1960's and 70's. Ray himself has exhibited and taught art extensively throughout the country.
