Description: THIS LISTING IS FOR THE LOG CABIN DOLL HOUSE ONLY. MY HITTY DOLL IS NOT PART OF THIS LISTING.This listing is for a wonderful, vintage, artisan, hand made, one of a kind, log cabin / log house / doll house. This log cabin was made in 1978 by a talented Delaware craftsman. It was not made from a kit but rather created from his own vision, imagination and original design.The cabin is constructed from many individual, realistic, rounded wood logs. Each log is approximately 11/16" x 5/8" deep, rounded on the outside and flat on the inside. Each log and slat was hand cut from pine 2 x 4s and 1 x wood. The floor is made of 3/4" x 1/4" thick individual hand ripped planks. Joists are 2" on center. The 3/4" wide shingles are all individually cut and glued. The logs of the log cabin are stained in Medium Honey Oak; the shingles are stained in Golden Oak. The scale is 1:12 (1" = 1'). The back rooftop is hinged about 3" below the roof peak and lifts up for access to the interior of the house. There are 4 windows about 2 1/2" W x 4" H (outside frame measurement) ; 1 door about 2 1/2" W x 6" H) (outside frame measurement) and 1 faux chimney. The interior is open space, ready to be decorated by your imagination.The measurements for the outside of the log house are 24 1/2" L (left front corner to right front corner at base of house) x 20 1/4" W (front right corner to right back corner at base of house) x 8 1/2" H (base of front wall to top of front wall under roof eave) x 19" H (side wall at base of house to roof peak at side wall of house). Roof measurements: 26" L (front edge of roof) x 15 1/2" front edge of roof to peak of roof.This is a very authentic looking, rustic, log cabin or log house. It is truly a one of a kind collectible. It is sturdy and has been built with care and precision to last. Its construction involved many hours of dedication and patience. It was built to become a family heirloom and to last through the generations.Although this cabin is 1:12 scale, my 6 1/2" tall Hitty dolls and all their friends and relatives absolutely love, love, love this log house. They might be disappointed when they find out it's on the market but delighted to know that another family will be able to enjoy its fine craftsmanship and spacious interior. This cabin was a favorite of my granddaughter, too, but she has moved on to other interests.
