Description: This sale features an 1891 “Stanton” $1.00 Treasury Note. The Pictures shown - serial number B 35825819 * - are of the exact item you will receive. This limp note from the Bruce - Roberts signature combination (Fr. #352) of the popular 1891 series is missing the top right corner (1/2-inch on the diagonal) and has moderate rounding and wear on the remaining 3 corners. There are 3 heavy vertical creases, a heavy horizontal crease through the middle, and lesser creases, folds, and wrinkles throughout. The bill is faded from its use over the years, with some ink loss (about a 1cm x 1cm area) on the back in the border of the right big “1”. The bill has very rough edges with multiple notches, small missing pieces, and tears, the worst of which extends about 1/2-inch down from the top middle. There is a slit/pinhole (about 1/8-inch in total length) visible when the bill is held up to light. Beyond these imperfections, you have a decent old silver certificate from a popular series, with a distinct red seal and no obvious stains. This bill is protected in a rigid plastic sleeve in which it will be shipped FREE by USPS First Class Mail, surrounded by cardboard for extra protection. Good Luck and happy bidding!
