Description: this is a beautiful realistic vintage oil painting depicting Perkins Cove in Ogunquit, Maine as it was seen by the artist in the 1980's to 1990's? - in the foreground, the artist & viewer sees Perkins Cove from the perspective of an "L-shaped" dock beyond which lies much of the actual cove - tied up to the dock in the foreground is a fishing boat colored in off-white & green paint - beyond that fishing boat is a 2nd fishing boat in pale gray paint moored in the cove water - the viewer sees a number of different size sailboats & other fishing boats moored all around the cove in various shades of gray or off-white colors - beyond the rock walls that line the edges of the cove, the viewer sees various size cottages, houses, & what appears to be some condos & perhaps some fishing shops grouped together - there appears to be a brown colored "fishing shack" at the far right just beyond the dock area for processing fish & shellfish - when you look at recent photos of Perkins Cove, there appears to be far more buildup of cottages & houses on the shores of the cove than when the artist painted this beautiful ocean scene - the artist painted the cove in shades of blue-green color which contrasts nicely with the gray & white colors of the boats & with the off-white clouds in the sky & the pale blue sky color - the painting measures 16" x 20" sight size,& is in very good vintage condition - the painting is well-enhanced by its original light-gray colored wooden frame which measures 20" x 24" & is also in very good vintage condition - the painting can be picked up at my home in Swanzey, NH to save on the cost of shipping -
