Description: This Fishscale oil lamp is a massive piece. It’s just beautiful. I have owned a few of these and this is the most beautiful by far. Looks much better in person. The clinched collar tells me the lamp could be from 1890. Upon examination of the lamp there is a makers mark on the base. You can see this on one of the photos. It’s definitely not a crack. It’s not rough. It seems as though a part on the machine ran across the base leaving this line. I also see a small chip in the base that you can see in the photos. It is not something that stands out when looking at the lamp. I just like to be sure I am giving an accurate description upon close examination. Other than that the base doesn’t have any other marks, chips, or scratches. The blue shade has to chips on the fitter. You can’t see those when the shade sits in the shade fitter. This is a working oil lamp with an oil burner 9 1/2” from base to collar 20” from base to top of chimney Please see my other listings showing other lamps I have worked with. Any condition statement is given as a courtesy to the potential buyer, it’s only an opinion and should not be treated as a statement of fact. I do my best to offer photos and some insight to the condition. Please refer to the photos as they represent the piece you are bidding on today. Please ask me any questions you may have. I do wrap each piece with care in mind. The post office is not the most considerate place when it comes to fragile pieces. Sometimes I use two boxes, or I may have adequate wrapping. I use filler so there is a buffer for the piece while being transported. If you have any concerns, don’t hesitate to ask me.
