First race with this color scheme and sponsor was on July 26, 1997, at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway Motorsports Park, in Madison, Wisconsin. Dale started in the 18th position, crashed on the 61st lap and finished 38th in a starting field of 42 cars.
