Vintage Mr Peanut Decanter Glass Jar 75th Anniversary Embossed Container 1991

Description: VintageLimited EditionMr. Peanut Decanter Glass Jar75th Anniversaryreleased in 1991 This Iconic Mr. Peanut container is in excellent pre-owned condition. Will need to be cleaned as it is slightly cloudy. Body of jar is Mr. Peanut himself and lid is his top hat.The top of the hat is embossed with the registered trademark image of Mr. Peanut and along the rim of hat is embossed with the words MR. PEANUT on one side and the other side says 75th ANNIVERSAY.Bottom of container is again embossed with the registered trademark image of Mr. Peanut and is dated 1991. There is also a number in ink stamped on bottom - not sure what that represents and is difficult to read but I think it says 22796Please see pictures for details. Measures just over 9 1/2" tall and is 3 1/2" in diameter at it's widest.Weighs in at 1 lb. 6.2 oz. In doing a bit of research it appears this container originally came with a hang tag dated 1990 (not included) with the story of Mr. Peanut that read: To help celebrate the 75th Birthday of Mr. Peanut, Planters has developed this Special Limited Edition Decanter filled with world famous Planters Peanuts.Mr. Peanut was born in 1916, when the Planters Company offered a prize for the best sketch suitable for adoption as a trademark. A 14 year old Virginia schoolboy submitted the winning drawing of a humanized peanut. A commercial artist added the top hat, cane and monocle. Since his birth, Mr. Peanut has stood for superior quality nuts, and today, 75 years later, Mr. Peanut still walks tall representing Planters pride in providing quality nuts to consumers all over the world.
