Description: This compelling charcoal on tan paper image of a young black man measures 15" x 13" overall; 11 1/2" x 8" sight and 11 3/8" x 8 3/4" (sheet). It is signed and dated lower right and comes from a small collection of figure studies by the artist Julius Bloch (1888-1966). Bloch was best known for his dignified Depression era depictions of the working class, especially African Americans. This work is in nice condition with proper acid free top hinge and mat.
