The wire is frayed. Please examine photos well for item condition and flaws. Most of my items are received from estate sales. I do not always know the history behind each item - or - whether or not it was a smoking home. I hand wash every item (that can and/or should be washed) before listing. All items from my store generally ship out within 24 hours of purchase (not including weekends or holidays). Whenever possible I use recycled packaging. So, don't be surprised to see an amazon or Chewy box.
