Description: I have a soft spot in my heart for this one! As an art history major, I wrote a number of essays on Auguste Rodin and Camille Claudel, fellow artist, and Rodin’s muse and mistress. This lovely reproduction of one of Rodin’s most famous marble sculptures, “Le Baiser " (The Kiss), was made by Austin Prod in 1963 after the 1889 original. It captures the raw expression and use of material for which this French sculptor is famously known. This reproduction is hand-cast durastone, which is a formulation of crushed stone mix with slurry, and hand finished with a bronze inspired patina. It is heavy and in great vintage condition with gentle signs of its age. See photos for details.
