Description: Fantastic...Vintage... Menzenhauer/ Schmidt No#2 Zither...made in the USA...Jersey City, NJ..1890's...the Autoharp capital of the World. In the early stages of autoharps...Menzenhauer labled these with Oscar Schmidt...starting a world wide outstanding reputation in the harp world for their quality, craftsmanship, and name. It is a beautiful instrument..a light green coloring with red/gold/brown accents...what a beauty. It has had a full service, cleaning, polishing, everything inspected, adjusted, and conditioned. The strings are old..but still life to them, and have been tuned and conditioned. The back and sides have been touched up...but the top face left to assure authenticity. Thers was a small hairline crack on the back which has been repaired..and the back and sides sealed for durability and protection. Such a great sound and tone. Though tuned...I recommend a digital tuner...shipping and a new environment will alter the pitch..and being delicate...they love frequent tuning..it is not a one and done tuning...they love the attention...and this got lots while here at the shop.
