I have not wanted to or tried to clean it up but I am sure that it could be polished if you wished. This one is marked HOWARD MILLER QUARTZ W GERMANY. The back compartment is a little tight to open, we usually need to use pliers to open it when the battery needs to be changed. It measures 5 3/8" tall, 4 3/4" across and 3" deep (the base)
