Description: Up for sale is a vintage Masonic Gavel, came from a Masonic lodge cleaning put some items in southern Pennsylvania. As is as found condition. Gavel is cream/yellowish colored and is bakelite, has a very strong odor of bakelite and was tested with simichrome. Has a cluster of Masonic ribbons attached to it with wire. Ribbons are in rough condition. They are frayed at the ends, have stains and tears, and some are nearly torn in half on the right side of the bow. See photos. Gavel itself is in fair to good condition. Has some surface flaws: both ends that would have seen impact have worn spots, scuffing and dark marks. Edges have scuffing and finish loss and indents to bakelite. Some dark marks on Gavel head at various points. Has surface scratching throughout. Head screws off. Handle has some wear and surface marks. Some wear under wire holding ribbons. Comes with the box I received it in. Box has wear, dirt, discoloration and staining. Lots of dark marks and surface dirt. One end is stamped 15 P. Gavel is approx 5.5" long not including ribbons. This is a vitnage pre owned item which was used, it has signs of use and age throughout. Please examine photos carefully as they are part of the description. In all of my listings, I include at least one photo that shows the item next to a ruler. I strongly urge you to look at this closely to make sure you have a good feel for how big or small the item actually is. Items are packed carefully to make sure they arrive to you safely.
