Description: A grand scale Asian ceramic table lamp by Marbro Los Angeles featuring a large Japanese hand-painted porcelain vessel with a yellow chrysanthemum and cherry blossom design. The lamp is mounted on a carved giltwood base.Marbro was at the pinnacle of luxury lamp companies during the 50s through the 80s. Their lamps were special ordered through interior designers and high end furnishing boutiques. An "average" marbro lamp would cost well over a $1000 in today's dollars. Some were well over a $1000 at the time they were sold. Marbro imported the finest finest porcelain, pottery, brass and art glass from around the world. Artisans would assemble the lamps in their small factory using specialized components that were fabricated in house. In several years of vintage lamp experience I can say Marbro lamps exhibit the finest construction I have seen and I'm always excited when I'm able to source one.excellent vintage conditionno chipsno cracksthe giltwood base shows minor wear original wiring and sockets tested in good working ordersecondary inline switch on the cord100 watt max per socket40" high to top of finial32" to top of socket cluster 21" to top of the ceramic9" wide8" deep***NO SHADE IS INCLUDED***The original post is set up for a shade that is around 15" high
