Description: A bronze Lejeune car mascot! Louis Lejeune is well known for fine car mascots (hood ornaments), the company having been established in 1910. The company is in England, a country known for their love of dogs, hence they produced some lovely canine hood ornaments. This is their Scottish Terrier dog. Unlike the more common chrome mascots, this Scottie is bronze (made using the lost wax method). It has been hand painted in realistic colors and the Scottie is depicted standing on a naturalistic base. Marked with a faint LL under the base, also Made in England. This is really a beautiful dog, with fine detail and realistic modeling. Measures 3 1/2" tall by 3 1/2" long. If you go to the Lejeune web site, you will find this Scottie selling in the standard chrome finish for $334.54. This bronze is a treasure! It has been mounted at one point and as such displays some wear to mounting area underneath the base. Cold painted bronze shows paint losses consistent with age and use. No bends, repairs or restorations. Please enlarge and examine all photos carefully as they are considered part of the description.
